Leadership Team

IPEF relies on a vibrant network of volunteers, district staff, community partners (and dedicated runners!) to implement programs and help achieve its goals. The IPEF Board of Directors is a diverse group of citizen volunteers who invest significant time to grow this network, fund and coordinate programs, and shine a light on the district’s many successes. The Superintendent and a member of the Board of Education also serve on the IPEF Board to help assure the foundation’s programs are aligned with district priorities.

Board members have children who are current IPSD 204 students or graduates. In fact, their children’s participation in IPEF programs has often been the motivation for them to get involved and join this leadership team. They are determined to build the IPEF legacy, help create new, worthwhile opportunities for every child of IPSD 204 . . . and to have fun doing so.

Dr. Chad Stevens - Board Chair

Chad Stevens joined the IPEF Board in 2016 and served as chair of the Governance Committee in 2016 and 2017. He was elected IPEF Board Chair in 2020.

Chad is the Chief Strategy Officer at ParentSquare. Previously he was Leader, K-12 Education for Amazon Web Services and the Chief Education Strategist for CDW-G in Chicago. He's been a teacher, principal, chief technology officer and serves on the board of the Consortium for School Networking, an association for education technology leaders.

Chad grew up in Lake Jackson, TX, earned a BS from Tarleton State University, an MS in Educational Management from the University of Houston, and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. He and his wife, Sarah, moved to Naperville in 2014. Their two children attend IPSD204 schools.
Brent Anderson - Director
Brent Anderson joined the IPEF Board in 2017 and was elected Vice Chair in 2018. He has run for TEAM IPEF since 2016. He’s also active in the community: Assistant Den Leader and a coach for several sports.

Brent earned a BS in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas. He recently started up a company that helps small businesses ensure their technology supports growth and risk management. In 13 years at Swedish-Finnish steel company SSAB, Brent led the Internal Audit function, IT service desk and IT risk management for the Americas. Prior to that, Brent spent 7 years at KPMG in Chicago.

Brent and his wife, Sarah, have three children attending District 204 schools.
Somali Tomczak - Director
Somali Tomczak joined the IPEF Board in 2016 and assumed the Secretary role in 2017. She is active in education, women’s leadership and environmental conservation platforms, and serves on other Boards including: Lake Katherine Nature Center and Botanical Garden and the United Way Women United.

Professionally, Ms. Tomczak is the Director of Field Operations at Nicor Gas. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Civil/Environmental Engineering and an MBA from DePaul University.

Somali and her husband came to Naperville over 20 years ago. Their daughter attended IPSD204 schools, took Project Lead The Way (PLTW) classes in high school, and now studies Engineering in college.

Laurie Donahue - IPSD204 Board of Education
Laurie Donahue became an IPEF Director in 2018. She retired as a Senior Director from Nokia where she led global quality initiatives, portfolio management, strategy, and purchasing.

As chair of the Naperville Sister Cities Commission, Laurie created high school exchanges with Nitra, Slovakia. She is active in animal therapy programs at Edward Hospital and District 204 schools. Laurie is Secretary of District 204 School Board.

Laurie and her husband have two adult children who attended District 204 schools from kindergarten through graduation from Neuqua Valley High School.

Laurie holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan and MBA from Benedictine University.
Stacey Johnson - Director
Stacey Johnson joined the IPEF Board in 2018 and has run for Team IPEF since 2015.

Stacey works in Business Development and Preconstruction Services for Nova Group, a general engineering contractor to the Defense Department. She holds a BS in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of California at Davis.

Originally from Wisconsin, Stacey and her husband came to Illinois from California in 2002. Their two children have attended IPSD204 schools since kindergarten. Stacey served at Builta Elementary as a room parent, LMC volunteer, PTA committee chair and IPEF Team Captain.
Dr. Brooke Ruxton - Director
Dr. Brooke Ruxton joined the IPEF board in 2019.

Brooke is a psychologist, with her own practice in Naperville, serving teens and adults. She engages in public speaking and consulting on mental health topics, including crisis response, preparing teens for college, and creating supportive work environments. Brooke was executive director of the counseling center and chief mental health officer at Northern Illinois University. She advocated for mental health needs on campus, earning the University’s Presidential Award. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Brooke grew up in Iowa City, IA and earned her MS and PhD from Iowa State University. She and her husband, Tim, came to Chicago in 2007. Their two children attend IPSD204 schools.
Eric Wilen - Director
Eric Wilen is a trusts and estates attorney with Brooks, Tarulis & Tibble, LLC., focusing on estate and wealth transfer planning and on tax law, planning and compliance. He also represents small businesses in drafting contracts, advising on sales, mergers and acquisitions and counseling on governance issues.

Eric holds an undergraduate Finance degree and a Law degree from Michigan State University. He has a Master of Laws in Taxation from New York University and serves on the board of the DuPage County Estate Planning.

Eric joined IPEF in 2020. He and his wife, Jennifer, are long-time Naperville residents with a son and daughter attending IPSD204 schools. Jennifer works at the district preschool, while Eric is a ‘serial volunteer’ and frequent high school career day speaker. He is a past board president of Senior Home Sharing and past member of Naperville ‘Sunrise’ Rotary Club.
A.J. Collier-Andrea - Director
A.J. Collier-Andrea joined IPEF in 2021 and has supported Team IPEF for several years. Andrea has been involved in the WVHS school community for many years. She was integral in starting the PAGES Tutoring Program and also in helping the organization become 501(c)(3) through her leadership positions as president, chairman of the board of directors and other various positions.

Andrea has a M.S. in computer science from Howard University; a B.S. in mathematics from Tuskegee University; and a B.S. in computer science from Tuskegee University. She currently works as a Technical Product Manager for T-Mobile.

Andrea has lived in the IPSD 204 community for 30 years and has three children that have graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School. Andrea is married and she and her husband, Thomas, remain very engaged in the Waubonsie school community, the district, and larger community.
Scott Hoag - Director
Scott Hoag joined the IPEF board in 2021.
Scott is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones in Naperville, making a difference in the lives of individuals by empowering them with knowledge and guidance so they can make informed choices that provides them the comfort and security to live the lives they want to live. He has been with Jones since 2019 and has worked in financial services since 2001.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University and earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
Both originally from Michigan, Scott and his wife, Dawn, moved from Chicago to Aurora in 2002. All three of their sons have attended IPSD204 schools since kindergarten; one currently attends Granger Middle School and the other two are graduates of Metea Valley High School.
Kevin Harris - Director
Kevin Harris joined the IPEF Board in 2020 and serves as the Vice Chair of IPEF board. Previously, Kevin volunteered for The Naper Settlement, 360 Youth Services, the Intercultural Montessori School, and the Naperville Chamber of Commerce (chairman). He also served as cub master and scout master in Boy Scouts of America. He coached youth sport teams, taught Sunday school youth groups, and participated in Junior Achievement programs.
Kevin is currently the Global Director of Data Center Security for Amazon. He earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Howard University and Georgia Tech, respectively.
Kevin and his wife have three children in college and one attending school in the district.
Elisha Johnson - Executive Director

Elisha Johnson joined the IPEF in 2018 as Executive Director, bringing years of experience in business development, marketing and sales. She had previously worked with IPEF in a volunteer capacity, managing the auction for the Foundation’s Inspire 204 event in 2015.

Elisha has been an active volunteer in Indian Prairie School District 204 as a member of the White Eagle Elementary School PTA, where she as president for two years. She has lived in the district since 2002 and has two children that currently attend Still Middle School and Waubonsie Valley High School.

Elisha earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management and Human Relations from MidAmerica Nazarene University.

Heidi Holm - Development Coordinator
Heidi Holm has been an IPEF board member since early 2019 and was elected Treasurer in 2020. She served on the PTA board at Kendall Elementary, as Vice President of the PTSA at Crone Middle School and as the Indian Prairie Parents’ Council delegate for each of those schools.

Heidi worked as a tax analyst for both Deloitte & Touche and Sprint in Kansas City. After moving to the Chicago area in 1997, she worked at Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company. She currently does volunteer work throughout IPSD204.

Heidi grew up in Manhattan, KS and earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Kansas State University. She and her husband, Rich, have lived in Naperville for over 20 years. They have two children who attended IPSD204 schools.
Kent Duncan - Chairman Emeritus
Kent Duncan has been an IPSD204 volunteer since 1994. He began by developing strategies to engage area businesses directly with IPSD204 schools and, in 1997, he joined IPEF where he chaired the Grant and Finance committees and served as Fine Arts liaison, Treasurer and Vice Chairman.

As Board Chair from 2012-2017, Kent set a strategy to grow both funding and support for district programs. Under his leadership, IPEF doubled its annual income and achieved its two largest fundraising campaigns.

Originally from Kansas City, Kent received his BS in Business from the University of Missouri - Columbia and enjoyed a distinguished career at Amoco Oil Company (now BP), retiring in 2013. Kent and his wife Kathy, a retired Chief Academic Officer for IPSD 204, have two daughters – graduates of Waubonsie Valley High School - and two grandchildren.

To recognize his many contributions, the IPEF Board honored Kent with the title of Chairman Emeritus in 2017.
Dr. Adrian Talley - IPSD204 Superintendent
Dr. Adrian Talley became the ninth Superintendent of IPSD204 in July 2020. For the prior five years, he was an administrator in Prince George's County Public Schools near Washington DC, a district with 208 schools and more than 130,000 students. Before joining PGCPS, Dr. Talley was Principal Deputy Director for the Department of Defense Education Agency (DoDEA), responsible for the instructional programs in DoDEA’s 181 schools serving 84,000 students of military families worldwide.

Dr. Talley has also served as an Associate Superintendent for Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. He managed 40 of the district’s schools with enrollment of more than 29,000 students in five high schools, eight middle schools, and 27 elementary schools.

Dr. Talley began his career as a teacher and then school principal. He earned his BS degree from the University of Virginia, his Master of Arts from Boston College, and his Doctorate from George Washington University.
Dr. Shelly Menendez - Director
Shelly Menendez has been an IPEF board member since 2017 and was elected Treasurer that same year. She has run for Team IPEF in the Naperville half-marathon since 2016.

Shelly is a Senior Research Associate at Measurement Incorporated where she conducts educational evaluation research at the local, state and national levels. Locally, she serves as a Liaison on the Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) and served on IPSD204's Special Needs PTA.

Shelly grew up in Rochester, NY and earned her Ph.D. in Development Psychology from Fordham University. She and her husband, John, moved to Naperville in 2005. They have twin sons attending IPSD204 schools.
Nick Palmer - Treasurer
Nick Palmer joined the IPEF Board in 2020. He has worked in government at the national, state and local level for over 22 years. Nick has been the chief of staff and deputy chief of staff in the Will County Executive’s Office and now serves as Chief of Staff to the Will County Board.

Nick grew up and attended public schools in Joliet. He holds a BA in Political Science from Loyola University Chicago where he also was a Division I cross country and track athlete.

Nick and his wife, Laura, have four children who have attended IPSD204 schools since kindergarten. He has been active in numerous community groups and has coached his kids’ sports teams.
Dr. Trudie Ranson - Secretary
Trudie Ranson joined the IPEF Board in 2019, and has run as a charity partner for Team IPEF since 2018.

Trudie is an internationally published Musicologist with a PhD from the University of Illinois, MA from the University of Iowa, and both BM in Music and BME in Music Education from Baldwin Wallace University. She is a long-time IPSD204 volunteer who has worked with PTAs at elementary, middle, and high school levels, holding executive board positions. For five years she served as an executive board member for the Indian Prairie Parents Council, and is currently a PTA Officer Trainer for Illinois.

Trudie is originally from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She and her husband, Arik, moved to Naperville in 2000. They have two sons who currently attend IPSD204 schools.
Kimberly White - Director
Kim White joined the IPEF Board in 2018, having served on elementary, middle and high school PTAs and the district’s Parent Diversity Advisory Council. She helped form Neuqua's Parents and Administrators Together Helping Students (PATHS) group.

Kim is Executive Director of the Community Career Center in Naperville, the 'go-to' resource for job seekers and career changers in the Western Suburbs. She has been the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) Woman of the Month and won the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Alumnae Woman in Leadership award. Kim is a member of 100 Women Who Care, the Rotary Club of Naperville and NACC Not-For-Profit Advisory Board. She serves on the Turning Pointe Autism Foundation Board.

Kim and her husband, Benny, moved to Naperville in 2005 and their two children graduated from IPSD204 schools.
Archana Sarkar - Director
Archana Sarkar joined the IPEF in 2020 as Executive Director, bringing 16+ years of global experience in Human Resources.
Archana has been an active volunteer in Indian Prairie School District 204 as a member of the Owen Elementary PTA, Secretary on the Still Middle Board and serving as a current Secretary on the Metea Valley PTSA board. Archana served as a VP on the board for the Indian Prairie Project Arrow and as PDAC Liaison at the elementary, middle and high school. She has lived in the district since 2015 and has one child that currently attends Metea Valley High School.
Archana holds a Bachelor’s and Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources from India.
Tami Reid - Director
Tami Reid joined the IPEF in 2022, having served as an IPSD204 school PTA President, IPPC Vice President and Secretary. Tami recently “repatriated” back to the Naperville area after having lived for several years in Texas where she served as a high school football booster club co-lead. Tami’s previous community involvement in the Naperville area includes leadership roles with youth sports, girl and boy scouts and her church congregation.
Tami holds a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from Texas A&M University and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from UNLV. Tami has also managed a private piano studio for 30 years.
Tami and her husband, Kyle, are the parents of four former IPSD204 students—all of whom are now studying at the collegiate level.

A.J. Collier-Andrea joined IPEF in 2021 and has supported Team IPEF for several years. Andrea has been involved in the WVHS school community for many years. She was integral in starting the PAGES Tutoring Program and also in helping the organization become 501(c)(3) through her leadership positions as president, chairman of the board of directors and other various positions.

Andrea has a M.S. in computer science from Howard University; a B.S. in mathematics from Tuskegee University; and a B.S. in computer science from Tuskegee University. She currently works as a Technical Product Manager for T-Mobile.

Andrea has lived in the IPSD 204 community for 30 years and has three children that have graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School. Andrea is married and she and her husband, Thomas, remain very engaged in the Waubonsie school community, the district, and larger community.
Scott Hoag - Director
Scott Hoag joined the IPEF board in 2021.
Scott is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones in Naperville, making a difference in the lives of individuals by empowering them with knowledge and guidance so they can make informed choices that provides them the comfort and security to live the lives they want to live. He has been with Jones since 2019 and has worked in financial services since 2001.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University and earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
Both originally from Michigan, Scott and his wife, Dawn, moved from Chicago to Aurora in 2002. All three of their sons have attended IPSD204 schools since kindergarten; one currently attends Granger Middle School and the other two are graduates of Metea Valley High School.
Archana Sarkar - Director
Archana Sarkar joined the IPEF in 2020 as Executive Director, bringing 16+ years of global experience in Human Resources.
Archana has been an active volunteer in Indian Prairie School District 204 as a member of the Owen Elementary PTA, Secretary on the Still Middle Board and serving as a current Secretary on the Metea Valley PTSA board. Archana served as a VP on the board for the Indian Prairie Project Arrow and as PDAC Liaison at the elementary, middle and high school. She has lived in the district since 2015 and has one child that currently attends Metea Valley High School.
Archana holds a Bachelor’s and Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources from India.
Kevin Harris - Director
Kevin Harris joined the IPEF Board in 2020 and serves as the Vice Chair of IPEF board. Previously, Kevin volunteered for The Naper Settlement, 360 Youth Services, the Intercultural Montessori School, and the Naperville Chamber of Commerce (chairman). He also served as cub master and scout master in Boy Scouts of America. He coached youth sport teams, taught Sunday school youth groups, and participated in Junior Achievement programs.
Kevin is currently the Global Director of Data Center Security for Amazon. He earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Howard University and Georgia Tech, respectively.
Kevin and his wife have three children in college and one attending school in the district.
Tami Reid - Director
Tami Reid joined the IPEF in 2022, having served as an IPSD204 school PTA President, IPPC Vice President and Secretary. Tami recently “repatriated” back to the Naperville area after having lived for several years in Texas where she served as a high school football booster club co-lead. Tami’s previous community involvement in the Naperville area includes leadership roles with youth sports, girl and boy scouts and her church congregation.
Tami holds a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from Texas A&M University and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from UNLV. Tami has also managed a private piano studio for 30 years.
Tami and her husband, Kyle, are the parents of four former IPSD204 students—all of whom are now studying at the collegiate level.
