The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation and District 204 recently honored Metea Valley High School Social Worker Kevin Wynard with the A+ Award. You can watch the team’s surprise visit to recognize Wynard for “Making a Difference” below.
Metea Valley High School parent, Trisha Lange, submitted the nomination and described Wynard as a great counselor, listener, advisor, and support for her and her family. “Mr. Wynard is kind, compassionate, honest and patient. He is a safe place for students to go when they are feeling overwhelmed,” Lange said.
Wynard has been teaching in District 204 since 2003 and at Metea Valley High School since 2008. He shared that he enjoys his job and loves helping students. “I enjoy hearing about students five years down the road that I worked with who maybe struggled for a period in their life but are successful and doing such great things now,” Wynard said.
