Indian Prairie School District 204

Indian Prairie School District 204 was formed in 1972 by the mergers of three elementary school districts. It was a K-8 district (its students attended Naperville Central High School) until Waubonsie Valley High School opened in 1975.

Today, IPSD204 is the fourth largest school district in Illinois, encompassing 46 square miles in Naperville, Aurora, Bolingbrook and Plainfield. It is recognized as one of the premier school districts in the nation, with many of its schools having been designated Blue Ribbon by the US Department of Education, and several earning ‘exemplary’ status from the Illinois State Board of Education.

While IPSD204 is committed to academic excellence, it is just as committed to inclusion. It serves a very diverse community, in both racial/cultural and economic terms, and devotes significant resources to ensure its lesser-advantaged students succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.
